Renewable Energy Composite Solutions, LLC, Clark County - $1 million grant to cover re-tooling and re-training costs associated with transitioning a portion of a boat manufacturing plant to small wind turbine production. This project will provide 99 temporary and 101 permanent jobs while simultaneously increasing workforce stability through diversification. The project leverages $5 million in additional funding to provide long term family-wage jobs in the community while contributing to the global production of renewable energy.

Vancouver, WA – RECS was awarded $1 million grant by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act for energy efficiency, renewable energy and clean technology programs throughout the state. The funding addresses a specific goal to reduce energy consumption by at least 25 percent of the state’s 1990 per capita energy use by 2012.

RECS was one of nineteen private and public projects selected from among 120 applicants that were funded based on their ability to:

  • Implement a project that will produce tangible results;
  • Create or retain jobs in Washington;
  • Leverage other funds, and
  • Increase energy efficiency and production to in turn reduce energy costs and consumption for
    consumers, business and government.
